What is a Ghostwriter? Is it legal to use one?

A ghostwriter is a professional writer who is hired to write content on behalf of a client. They are hired with full knowledge that the credit and all copyright ownership of the written material will be passed onto the client. This means they relinquish all ownership and rights to the work upon payment. It is very much legal to hire a ghostwriter to write a book or other content on your behalf.

There are many reasons why people (from the everyday person to world-famous celebrities) hire ghostwriters. The most obvious being: They’re good at what they do!

Ghostwriters are writers first, with plenty of experience. They are a great option if you have a great book idea, but for some reason, you cannot complete it on your own. Perhaps you have no time in your schedule to write it, or maybe you have trouble finding just the right words?

Let a ghostwriter convey your message in a way that is gripping, genuine, and evocative. Tell them your idea, and they’ll use words to paint your vision. Ghostwriters understand that writing is so much more than just putting words on paper.

Hiring a ghostwriter isn’t cheating, nor is it wrong. You’re hiring an experienced and professional writer to take your book ideas and fully flesh them out, to be developped into a complete book and finally polished to perfection.

Do I Own The Copyrights To The Content Purchased From Publish Pages?

The work you commission from Publish Pages is yours! You own the copyright to it outright, and Publish Pages relinquishes all rights of the content delivered to you.

Can I request revisions after the work is delivered?

Yes, you can request a modification up to 10 days after the content is delivered. Please email us at publishpagesservices@gmail.com; we will do our best to accommodate your needs!

For Book Manuscripts, should I provide a book outline?

We do recommend a book outline, or at least for you to include specific requests that you want in your book. Customer satisfaction is vital to us; if our writers have a clear idea of what you want from the start, it is easier for us to deliver a book that you absolutely love. An outline or general guideline will reduce the amount of back and forth we have to do, as well as ensuring that you receive exactly what you want! Fear not if you have no outline though, our writers can make an outline on your behalf to follow and will write the book based on the notes and details you provide when you place your order.

Whether you provide an outline or not, consider taking note of the following information ghostwriters look for, such as:

- Is your book Fiction or Non-Fiction?

- Who is your book’s target audience (Who are they? How old are they? What are their interests or pain points? (Ex. Young Adult Fantasy - This includes teenagers aged 13-18 who like fiction books about magic and magical worlds/creatures. An example of a Non-Fiction target audience might be Struggling new parents - People who are looking for parenting and child-rearing tips because they have no prior experience doing so)

- What is your book’s tone? (casual and conversational? Professional? Academic?)

- What is your book’s hook? (Is it how to lose 10 pounds in 10 days with juice fasting?)

- What is your book’s summary?

- What are the main takeaways or lessons a reader will get from reading your book?

- What should each chapter contain? (Do you have an idea of the chapter titles? The information you want to be covered in them? Specific studies to include?

- For fiction books, think about giving thorough notes on your book's genre, plot, concept, setting, characters, theme(s), scenes for each chapter, etc.

- Lastly, what do you NOT want included in your book?
